Friendship in The Jungle

While there are so many things already written about friendship, this is a rare form of friendship that saw and felt like writing about. Friends are not only those whom we expect to be our friends, often circumstances bring us better friends.

I was born,
There was a fight.
The clock struck two,
In the middle of the night.

My lids were closed,
I longed for sight,
I was thrown in a shrub,
In the middle of the night.

Some foes forced,
Curbed my birth right,
When I cried in the jungle,
In the middle of the night.

Roars, howls, and chirrupings,
Invited all others to the site,
Barks, hoots, and buzzings,
All in the middle of the night.

My eyes opened,
To darkness and a tiger white,
Patting my stomach with its paws,
Embracing me in the middle of the night.

Half the jungle,
Was here to happily cite,
The friendship of baby with them,
Giggling in the middle of the night.

Years passed,
I grew up in the light,
Lessons from the jungle friends,
Taught in the middle of the night.

I have grown,
Like a Tarzan in blight,
Their friendship is healing,
My scars in the middle of the night.

I am never alone,
Neither on ground nor at height,
There is a friend always with me,
Even in the middle of the night.

PS: Happy Friendship’s Day
