Smoke Lifting Up From The Compound of The Iraq Embassy In Kabul Post Suicide Bombing

Nothing is more tragic than hearing news of terrorism, violence, and bloodshed. A suicide bomber targeted an Iraqi embassy today, followed by gunfire and the situation is still worse as an IS affiliate has claimed that it has executed the attack. All this looks a bit confusing until we delve a little into the history.

  • Both the Taliban and an Islamic State affiliate have previously carried out such attacks in Kabul, Afghanistan.
  • 35 people were killed in a Taliban attack on government workers in the Afghan capital just 7 days ago.
  • Islamic State has carried out a series of high-profile attacks in Kabul, to divert attention and fuel agitation.
  • In May 2017, a huge bombing in the center of the city killed more than 150 people.

In such cases, the picture isn’t very clear about who attacked. Yet, the future is endangered. The nearby people are always threatened and afraid, running here and there to save their lives. The war might have ended and the attackers might have been killed, but where is peace?

For people in the middle east, it is another day with another blast or gunfire, plunging into deep humanitarian crisis and yet the solution is nowhere in sight. The situations in the Middle East are disheartening. With so many civilians dying in these attacks each day, where is the world heading to? A human free world?
