While there was so much tension created by the publishing and electronic media about the verdict in Panama papers case, it all ended with both tears and celebration in Pakistan as PM Nawaz Sharif was ousted out by the SC and forced to file his resignation. Sadly, he is supposed to nominate a candidate for the new Prime Minister of Pakistan from his own party, which is still in power.
The reason for this acquisition has been quoted as accumulating property overseas and submitting wrong papers to the Supreme Court, it is really astonishing to note that he was ousted even before the probe’s over. People are making assumptions that PM Nawaz’s daughter, Maryam Nawaz shall be the next PM for the remaining tenure, however, there hopes turn down as she is not an elected member of the office right now. This implies that she cannot be nominated for the post of the PM anyhow.
Interestingly, Pakistan once again has a Prime Minister who has not finished the term. Earlier Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was ousted from the post of Prime Minister after he was convicted of contempt of court for refusing to resume corruption investigations against Mr Zardari, prompting a political crisis. Former President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari was accused in corruption cases and scandals.
A lot of tweets supported the spirit of democracy in Pakistan, although the nation lands itself in states of political emergency every now and then.
While this was the scene in Pakistan, people in neighboring India were reigniting fire with the question – “What happened to Panama investigation in India?” If I am not wrong, these Indians on the list of Panama Gate Papers are the ones who are advertising GST. That is why, the Government of India is so relaxed while PM Nawaz Sharif is holding meetings with his people to manage the situation that has aroused post this verdict.
