If I had a lens to see, Much easier life would then be, I'd discover the truth of spoken lies, And the joy behind deep sighs. If there's a smile hiding in tears, Just like boldness pronounced in fears, I'd ascertain the face behind the mask, And the intention of performed task. How innocence is crushed by greed? How desires are buried by time's need? The efforts of heart to suppress pain? The losses kept in curtains post gain? If there's a war within to maintain peace, Or a struggle for freedom put to cease, Only if I had a lens to see, Much fruitful this life could be!
